LOUISE C. KONTER
Louise C. Konter, age 93, of Winona, and formerly of La Crosse, WI, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona.
She was born on February 19, 1924, in Winona, to Theodore and Cecelia (Nowicki) Eichman. Louise was united in marriage with Marcel Konter on July 5, 1947, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Winona, and he preceded her in death in 1970.
Louise was employed with K-Mart in La Crosse, and she also worked as a nurse's aide at Hillview Nursing Home and Bethany-St. Joseph in La Crosse. She was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Winona.
She will be remembered for her love of knitting, sewing, and flower gardening. Louise loved children, and one of her favorite jobs was serving as a crossing guard at St. Pius X School in La Crosse. In her later years, she was part of a group that went into the local elementary schools to teach children how to make yarn dolls.

e="text-align: justify;">Louise is lovingly survived by her son, Tim (Sue) Konter, Onalaska, WI; grandchildren: Sheila (Brian) Arlt and Marcel (Betsy) Konter; great-grandchildren: Shelby, Savannah, Kameron, Sydney, and Khloe; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister: Connie Garringer; and her brothers: Theodore, Raymond, and Daniel Eichman.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1 PM on Friday, June 2, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.
Louise will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse.
Marcel Konter and Brian Arlt will assist as pallbearers.
