Georgina Silva, 84, of Greeley, Colorado passed away on April 26, 2017. Georgina was born in the Azores, Portugal on March 4, 1933 to Jose Cardoso Areias Jr. and Palmira Sousa (Meneses) Areias. On June 20, 1953 she married the love of her life, Heitor N. Silva in Azores, Portugal. They moved to the United States in 1977, eventually moving to Loveland, Colorado. They became United States citizens in 1985. Georgina was a seamstress for Leslie Cleaners in Loveland until retirement. She and Heitor were parishioners of St. John's Catholic Church in Loveland and members of the Loveland Elks Lodge. Georgina loved being a mother and grandmother. She and Heitor liked to gamble, making trips to Blackhawk, Las Vegas and gambling on reservations in Ohio.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ligia (David) Schaaf and Lana Green; two grandchildren, Chase and Rhyann Green; nieces and nephews Ana Bella Jorge, Ida Parks, Abel Areias, Liberta Nunes, Jorge Nunes, Paula Nunes, Andrea Nunes, and Maria Genuina Teves.

Georgina and Heitor will be privately inurned at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Fort Collins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Georgina's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
