Marlene G. Havig, 90, of Dumont, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017, at her home in Dumont. She was born on January 21, 1927, in Dumont, the daughter of John and Grace (Pohl) Wearda.
Marlene graduated from Dumont High School. She was united in marriage to Junior C. Havig on December 27, 1946, in Dumont. Marlene worked at the Hi-Way Café in Dumont and for Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the New Hope Parish of the United Methodist Church - Dumont Center.
Marlene enjoyed reading, bowling, making candy and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Larry and wife Deone Havig of Dumont, daughter-in-law Patty Havig of Bristow, grandchildren Jennifer (Jeff) Hamilton, Lynn (Del) Hoth, Lisa (Jeff) Trainer, Nikki (Virgil) Kriens, Shawn Havig, Kari (Andy) Rohlfs and Amanda (Jeff Nachazel) Kelley, great-grandchildren Matthew and Megan Hamilton, Brady, Drew, Isaiah and Brynn Hoth, Tyson, Jared, Ashton and Alex Trainer, Linda and Kadan Kriens, Gage, Parker, Tatum, Scout and Reagan Rohlfs, brother Jerold (Mari Ann) Wearda of Sheffield, sister Jeannette (Bob) Muhle...[more]

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents John and Grace, husband Junior, son Kenneth, sister Vera Borneman and grandson Bryan Walsh.
