She attended White Hall rural school. She spent 35 years in Delaware where she worked in the Ice Cream and restaurant business and also did house cleaning. In January of 1981 she married Ura Messick, he later died. In 1988 she moved to Dayton, Virginia. She was retired, but she volunteered her time at the Gift and Thrift Store. She also did baking and quilting for others. Dorothy died suddenly on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Loyalton Assisted Living in Harrisonburg, Virginia at the age of 81 years. Dorothy is survived by five brothers - Howard Yoder and wife Eleanor; Kenneth Yoder and wife Dorothy; Carl Yoder and wife Laverta all of Wellman; Gordon Yoder and wife Norma of Dayton, Virginia; Walter Yoder and wife Jean of North Branch, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
