Dale Evan Wright December 23, 1930 - September 30, 2008 Wellman, formerly of Webster Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m. October 05, 2008 at Powell Funeral Home - North English Visitation: 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. October 04, 2008 at Powell Funeral Home - North English Interment: October 05, 2008 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Dale Evan Wright, age 77, of Wellman, formerly of Webster, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a lengthy illness. Dale was born December 23, 1930, near What Cheer, Iowa, to Alvin O. and Grace (Garrett) Wright and graduated from Keswick High School in 1949. On October 28, 1952, he married Doris Jean Moore in Sigourney. Dale operated heavy equipment for Keokuk County, farmed and drove semi trucks for many years before retiring in the early 1990s. He has been a resident of Parkview Manor in Wellman since February of 2001. Dale enjoyed collecting caps and miniature cars, playing pitch and he especially enjoyed teasing his grandchildren. t and wife Lavonne of Pella, Ernest Wright and wife Tammy of Knoxville; 12 grandchildren: Lindsay, Patrick Jr., Jennifer & husband Michael, Angela & husband Doug, Amy & husband Brian, Isaac, Maggie, Tricia, Kristen, Zachary, Tyson and Natasha; 5 great grandchildren: Sydney, Jackson, Evan, Bailey and Kerrigan; and two sisters: Phyllis DeYoung of Knoxville and Betty Hejda of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Orlo Wright in infancy, and two sisters: Dora Stanley and Laura Mae Hoover. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2008, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English with Rev. George W. Bishop officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural South English. Memorial visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Children's Miracle Network. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English is handling the arrangements.
