Charles F. Coleman March 11, 1928 - January 02, 2011 Williamsburg formerly of Wellman Visitation: 2-8 p.m. January 05, 2011 at Powell Funeral Home, Wellman Charles F. Coleman was born March 11, 1928 near Monti, in Delaware County, Iowa the son of James and Loretta (Duggan) Coleman. He graduated from Coggon High School and Cedar Rapids Business College. On August 1, 1953 he was united in marriage to Betty Adams at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. They lived in Cedar Rapids before moving to Wellman in 1959. Chuck worked at Owens Brush and Oral B Laboratories in Iowa City from 1959-1991 where he worked in the purchasing department. Chuck moved to Williamsburg in 2005. He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church. He was proud of his Irish heritage and he never new a stranger. Chuck died peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, January 2, 2011, at his home in Williamsburg at the age of 82 years. Tara, Seth, Drake; seven great grandchildren - Madyn, Reese, Lyla, Hunter, Landry, Kaiya, Mariah; a sister Betty Dooley (Gerald) of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters-in-law Bernadine Coleman of Cedar Rapids, and Roberta Coleman of Coggon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Betty in November of 1993; a son - Danny in September of 1973; and five brothers - Dale, George, Vincent, John and Thomas. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A Private family service will be held later. Deacon Dave Reha will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Camp Courageous or Iowa City Hospice.
