Hochstedler January 30, 1925 - January 05, 2012 Kalona, Iowa Visitation: 2-8 p.m. January 08, 2012 at Sunnyside Mennonite Church Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. January 09, 2012 at Sunnyside Mennonite Church Interment: January 09, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery Henry Hochstedler, 86, died Jan. 5, 2012 in Kalona. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday January 9, 2012, at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church in Kalona. Pastors John King, Floyd Helmuth and Floyd Yutzy will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in rural Kalona. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church where the family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Sunnyside Church Missions. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Henry was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Kalona, Iowa, the son of Emmett and Annie (Yoder) Hochstedler. He spent most of his life in the Kalona area except for the years he gave to Civilian Public Service in Hills City, S. D., during WWII, promoting peace in a time of war. aring," describes his heart. Henry farmed and owned and operated H & H Heating, Plumbing, and Air Conditioning for many years. He had a heart for missions and traveled all over the United States and Canada, providing in a material way for many mission families as well as contributing funds. He loved to read, and visit with people. These provided many hours of enjoyment-especially in his retirement years. He faithfully prayed for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Henry is survived by children: Vivian (Mark) Baumhover, of Hills, Leonard (Twila), of Kalona, Merle (Mary), of Turkey, Bill (Susan), of Canada, Dennis, of Kalona; 12 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren; 3 brothers-Paul of Kalona, Eldon of Cleveland, Ohio, and Calvin of Kalona. He was preceded in death by his wife Beulah, on June 1, 2011, his parents, a son Myron, in 1967, and 2 sisters-Elva, and Ellen Hochstedler.
