Wanda Jo Rand (nee Zasucha) was born on March 19, 1919, the third of three children of Frank and Josie Zasucha. Frank and Josie immigrated from Poland in the early 1900s and settled in Aberdeen, Washington.
She married Charles Preston Rand in September of 1939 and they were married for 42 years before "Chuck" passed away. He was a carpenter and built bridges and large buildings. She was a homemaker and mother to four children: Richard, Janis, Roger and Barbara. She worked in sales and also dressed department store windows.
Wanda was active in her retirement community of Century Village. She was in the chorale, bridge club, studied piano and painting. She loved to dance and attended the Saturday night dances for years until about a year ago.
She was a member of the Church of God, aia, and attended three of the local congregations as she was able.
Survivors include sons Richard (Judy) of Coconut Creek, FL, Roger (Jackie) of Hickory, NC, daughters Janis (Vince) Gallagher of Sun City West, AZ, Barbara (Dan) Rogers, of Henderson, NV, and many, many friends. She leaves ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
