Norman B. "Putts" Faust, age 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday afternoon, June 16, 2017. He was born March 18, 1938 the son of the late Robert and Jane (Knapp) Faust, Sr.
Putts grew up in Sun Prairie and DeForest. He graduated in 1957 from Sun Prairie High School, where he excelled in athletics, including football, basketball and baseball. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 - 1961. After serving his country, he married Nancy Showers at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church on October 7, 1961. Together they raised three children. Putts took pride in his work at Custom Drywall. He will be remembered for the many years he served as a volunteer firefighter in DeForest. He enjoyed a variety of activities; playing horseshoes, hunting in Briggsville with his big group of hunting buddies, playing cards, especially Sheepshead and cruising in his 1964 Thunderbird. There was nothing Putts enjoyed more than watching his grandchildren play their sports!

He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis and two brothers, Robert Faust, Jr. and Richard Faust.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at ST. OLAF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 623 Jefferson Street, DeForest, with Rev. Vincent Brewer presiding. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Olaf Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20 at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest.
