Nita Wilson-Butler, Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, June 17 at home after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Kennett, Missouri on April 19,1935. She was the eldest of four daughters of Jewel and Louise Wallace. The family moved to Indiana when she was 16. Nita graduated second in her class from Lapel High School. She had a long career at Ford Motor Company. After retiring, she worked as a travel agent at Carefree Travel.
She married her lifelong friend Duge Butler and they spent the last several decades traveling and enjoying life with family and friends.
Nita is survived by her husband Duge, two sisters Janice Taylor (Richard) of Anderson and Shelby Bradford (John) of Kennesaw, Georgia, and a large extended family which she loved and cherished. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shirley Weiler(Paul).
A memorial calling will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 5-8 PM with a memorial service beginning at 7:30 PM at Leppert Mortuary - Nora Chapel, 740 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN.
