William Richard Green, 69, of Burlington, died 5:59 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Great River Medical Center.
Born September 4, 1947 in Burlington, he was the son of William Audrey and Lealia Mae (Reynolds) Green. On September 22, 1972 he married Meribeth Brown in Rock Island, Illinois. She died December 30, 2014.
William was a truck driver his entire life. He worked for Sears Manufacturing, drove over the road and then later for Floyds EZ Way. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was a "back yard" mechanic and loved to work on cars and socialize.
Survivors include one son, Robert (Janet) Green of Davenport; two daughters, Tara Green-Johnson of Burlington and Teresa (Freddie) Matos of Pennsylvania; one step son, Robert (Kimberly) Welsh III of Texas; one step daughter, Tamatha (Tim) Royer of Burlington; 27 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four sisters, Jean Gay of Washington, Sandy Matson of Davenport, Dixie Baldwin of Warsaw, IL and Amy Tyner of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Donald Green of Davenport; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, Dorothy and Vickie and twin brothers in infancy.
