Rachel enjoyed volunteering: tying quilts, being a member of Friends in Service, helping with church dinners & serving many lunches to American Legion Post # 334. She enjoyed traveling with the family to both coasts, Canada and Mexico in their camper, and with Sherrill to the Bahamas, Hawaii, Alaska and Norway. She was proud of her heritage and enjoyed collecting Irish trinkets. Rachel always made people feel welcome in her home with a cup of hot coffee, homemade goodies and warm conversation. Rachel is survived by her son David (Marsha) Hegland and her daughter Cindy (Scott) Anderson, all of McCallsburg; grandchildren Sara (Daniel) Robinson of San Antonio, Texas, Justin Hegland of Story City, Iowa, Keith Anderson of McCallsburg, Iowa, and Becky Hegland of North Aurora, Illinois; great-grandchildren Thor and Myra Robinson of San Antonio, Texas; sister Esther Artley of Hampton, Iowa; many nieces and nephews. Rachel was preceded in death by her husband Sherrill, her parents David and Mary Glenn, her twin sister Margaret Harken and husband Ivan, brother Tom Glenn and wife Lucille; niece Mary Feldhoff; in-laws Dan Artley, Esther Hegland, Helen Klousia and husband John, and Robert Hegland.
