s Lutheran Church in Windsor. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and a member of the sewing group. She was a RSVP volunteer and received the RSVP Outstanding Service Award for 25 years of service.
She worked at Great Western Sugar Company in Windsor and later beside her husband on the dairy farm in Timnath. They moved to Greeley in 1962 where she worked for Weld County Hospital in support services from 1962-1973.
Emmelene is survived by her three children: Jim (Jeanette) Rutz, Dr. Robert (Brenda) Rutz and Sandy (Jeff) Gould; brother George Arndt; sister Viola Maisch; brother-in-law Joe Ross; and sister-in-law Esther Arndt; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband Karl Rutz; three brothers Sam, Ted and Donald Arndt; two sisters Alvina Huwa and Dorothy Ross.
Visitation will be from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017, with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m., both at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1800 21st Ave., Greeley. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W. 28th St., Greeley.
