Audrey Dale Dean
Madison-Audrey Dale Dean passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at age 89. She was born in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to Walter and Marion Dale. She graduated from Lake Geneva High School Class of 1946. Audrey graduated from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago (now Rush University) in 1949. She practiced as a Registered Nurse in Illinois until moving to Madison, Wisconsin in 1955. She was then employed as an RN at Madison General Hospital (now Meriter).Audrey was married to David Dean for over 60 years. They lived in Kaukauna and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In December 1964, they moved to Kaduna, Nigeria, where the family spent four years through Dave's role as business manager for a University of Wisconsin teacher training project. Upon returning to Madison in the summer of 1968, the family made this their forever home.
Audrey was active in The University League, Metropolitan Woman's Club and Covenant Presbyterian Church. She and Dave loved to travel, visiting their daughters at their homes in Washington, D.C. and California, as well as many other places. Audrey was an avid reader, and wrote ...[more]

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Marion Dale, her brothers Richard and Ralph Dale, her daughter Nancy Dean and grandson Jordan Lepgold.
Audrey is survived by her husband David Dean, daughter Roxanne Dean, grandson Chris (Nicole) Kline, granddaughter Meghan (Michael) Huss, niece Mary Ann Zwiebel, nephew Robert Dale, and six great-grandsons.
A Memorial Service will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 326 S. Segoe Road, Madison, Wisconsin at 2 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2017. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice for their excellent care and support to us all. Memorials may be made in Audrey's name to the American Heart Association, Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund and Covenant Presbyterian Church.
