s Manufacturing remanufacturing International Harvester tractor parts until his retirement in 1999. Louie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as an elder, Golden K Kiwanis, Black Hats and Lutheran Laymen League where he held several offices. Louie was an advocate for the Algona Good Samaritan Care Center. He enjoyed the Over 50 Golf Club, Black Hat events and being able to take part in the Honor Flight in 2013. Louie loved to spend time with his family and attending his grandchildren's events.
Louie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna Maharas of Algona; two daughters, Connie (Michael) Potter of Waterloo and Kelly (Tom) Borchers of Carroll and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Christian Borchers; three brothers, Virgil, William and Nicholas Jr. Marahas and two sisters, Dorothy Woodall and Viola Schipull.
