LeRoy Claussen, 81, of Bettendorf, IA passed away Monday, July 3rd, 2017 surrounded by his family at Genesis West, Davenport. Services in celebration of his life will be held at 10 am Sat., July 8th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park where military honors will be presented by Donahue American Legion Post 532. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be made at a later time to the many organizations that LeRoy held dear to his heart. LeRoy was born June 14, 1936 in Scott County, IA to Robert and Inez (Kraklio) Claussen. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1954. In 1956 he joined the U.S. Army and served honorably until his discharge in 1958. He married Ruby Goodell on July 25, 1959. LeRoy farmed near Eldridge, then worked with Oscar Mayer while also working as an auctioneer with GMB Auctioneering until 2014. LeRoy enjoyed fishing and attending family events. LeRoy is survived by his wife Ruby; daughters Bev (Larry) Geurink of Davenport, Peggy (Doug) Dietz of Walcott, and Jody (Chris) Coffman of Eldridge; grandchildren Nathan (Melissa) Geurink, Kayelyn (fiance' Beau Blake) Geurink, Evan Dietz, Grace and Delaney Coffman; great-grandchildren Cheyenne Geurink and Landon Blake; along with many nieces and nephews.
