Betty L Bryan

Betty L. Bryan, 95, of Bettendorf, passed away July 3, 2017 at Genesis East, Davenport with her loving family by her side. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 6 at 11:00am at Weerts Funeral Home at Jersey Ridge and Kimberly. Friends can call on the family from 10-11am on Thursday. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Betty was the eldest of 13 children to Clara and John Cogley, born June 2nd, 1922 in Grinnell, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Alvin Bryan on June 2, 1941. Betty worked with Visiting Nursing and Caregiver as a caregiver for over 17 years and was an active member of First Baptist Church for 55 years. She knitted hats for newborns and sleeves for patients undergoing dialysis. Betty also loved to crochet, bake, and garden. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin, daughter, Linda, sons-in-law: Les Brandt and Curt Gillespie, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. She is survived by her two daughters Diane Brandt of Davenport, IA and Beverly Gillespie of Piedmont, SC; along with 7 siblings Memorials may be made in Betty's name to her family.
