John P. Birch

John P. Birch, 40, of Davenport, IA, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home of complications related to neuroendocrine cancer. A memorial gathering will be held from 4-7:00 pm Friday, July 21st, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. A Celebration of Life Event will occur later this year. Any memorials may be made to the American Association for Cancer Research Foundation or Quad Cities Greyhound Adoption. John was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. He married Teresa Schoelerman Pomrehn on July 7, 2007, at Gull Point State Park, Iowa. John was an IT professional who worked for the Dubuque Community Schools, Navajo Tribal Utility Authority, CEC, and most recently at John Deere in Moline. John was a passionate gamer who rarely missed an opportunity to join friends and family in computer, board, card, and role playing games alike. He was an admired game master and welcomed all to play despite level of experience. He also organized and hosted an annual LAN party as a member of the De-Frag admin team.
