Henry Shigeo Doi, (to those few who still remember "Blackie") was born in Wattenburg, CO on February 19, 1924 and graduated from Fort Lupton High School in 1943. He was a life-long resident of Brighton passed away July 29, 2017.
He was a farmer, local mechanic and right hand man at Tuin Auto Body and Vic Hebert's in Denver. Henry enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing baseball and loved to watch his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids in their activities. He was generous, hardworking, a mechanic to many and a good friend.
Henry is survived by daughter, Theresa (Don); daughter-in-law, Jayn, and son-in-law, Daryl; five grandchildren, Tim, Johnna, Stephanie, Stacie and Kyle and eight great-grandchildren, Siobhan, Keiko, Shauntelle, Tomiko, Raiden, Toshi, Michiko and Mitsuo; and long-time faithful family friend of over 70 years, Mack Katayama.
He is preceded in death by his wife Chimi; son, Dennis, daughters, Sallie and Diana; two sisters, Rosie and Mary and two brothers, Tom and George.
He will be missed deeply.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00am at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton.
