gardening, and especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He had a special appreciation of nature and the simple things in life. Edward J. Kisch died Monday, August 7, 2017, at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, with his family at his bedside, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Illa Kisch of Algona; two children, Amy Hupfer and her husband Justin of Johnston and Anthony "Tony" Kisch and his wife Debra of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Nathan and Owen Hupfer of Johnston and Morgan and Elizabeth Kisch of Waterloo. He is also survived by a sister, Angela Ackermann of Des Plaines, IL; sisters-in-law, Rosanne (Mike) Schmit of Algona, Madonna (Gary) Johnson of Estherville, Janet (Lewis) Elbert of Clarkston, MI, Bonnie Erpelding of Algona, and Jenese Kisch of Lehigh; brother-in-law, James (Judy) Erpelding of Golden, CO; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernard (Marie) Kisch, Paul (Betty) Kisch, Joe Kisch, Frank (Agnes) Kisch; and sister, Loretta (Marvin) Derner; a brother-in-law, Roy Ackermann; and a sister, Gertude in infancy.
