Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a selfless, giving person who loved not only his family, but countless others. He served Handley Baptist Church faithfully and sacrificially, leaving a significant impact on the next generation.
Charles spent 4 years as a submariner in the U.S. Navy from1957-1961. Upon his discharge from the navy, he worked at Texas Steel Company for 35 years until his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed his retirement traveling the world with his beloved wife.
Preceded in death by his father, August Charles Brockenbush, Sr., his mother, Pearl Knezek and brother, Charles Arthur Brockenbush.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alberta Joyce Smith Brockenbush, daughters,Debra Brockenbush King and special friend, Mike Holdridge, Diane Brockenbush Wattenbarger and husband,Robert Chick Wattenbarger, Denise Brockenbush Morano and husband, Richard Michael Morano II. Grandchildren,Brian & Juanita King, Kyle & Monica King, John Wattenbarger, Laura Wattenbarger, Alexandra Morano, Kallan Morano and Faith August Morano.
