Clement A. Findlay (Tony, Sir) was born on December 26, 1953 in May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica W.I. to Doris DaCosta and Joseph Findlay. He attended St Andrew Technical High School and did additional technical training in New Zealand. He returned to Jamaica and taught at St Thomas High School for several years. He migrated to the United States in 1982 and worked as an insurance salesman, welder, realtor and finally as a Maintenance Supervisor with New York City Transit Department for 20 years. He attended Nassau Community College and Manhattan College where he received his undergrad degree. Tony was a member of the Transport Workers Union Local 100. He married Janet Ricketts on June 4, 1994 and they have one son. Tony was loving, funny and a great friend. He loved to cook and entertain. His greatest pleasure was cooking delicious meals and inviting his family and friends to partake. Tony is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Findlay and Doris DaCosta. Visitation will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Fred Hunters Funeral Home, 2401 S University Drive, Davie, FL 33324. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday August 16, 2017 at Fred Hunters Funeral Home, with Father Albert Cutie of St Benedict's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Bailey's Memorial Garden. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter's Funeral Home.. The family of Clement Findlay wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Melo, Dr. Izada, Dr. Ead and all the doctors and nurses at Westside Regional Medical Center and Monter Cancer Center, Ms.Thomas at Vitas Hospice and all the family and friends who provided support during his illness.
