ome raising their children for several years. They moved to Allerton where Mary began work as kitchen help in Corydon and later moved to Knoxville where she worked as a Home Healthcare Assistant. Being a caregiver and a teacher was her calling, and she enjoyed teaching children and caring for others. Mary found this to be very rewarding. Mary and Homer shared over 59 loving years of marriage before his passing.
In her spare time, Mary liked to read, cooking and canning, Knitting, sewing and being active in her Grandchildren's events. Mary enjoyed being an active member of the First Baptist Church.
Mary will be missed by her children, daughter Sandra Dabb of Knoxville; daughter-in-law Terri Stanley of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Mike (Amy) Wallace, Jenna Dabb, Jeffrey (Robyn) Stanley, Brandon (Rachael) Stanley, and Tyler (Tarea Hale) Stanley; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Edna Lee; husband, Homer Stanley; one son, Howard Stanley; and one daughter in infancy.
