Dale "Ozzy" Ackerman, age 79, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley.

Funeral Services will be Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home, Sibley. Rev. Terry Simm officiating.

Burial to follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Military Honors by the American Legion Post #324, Sibley.

Visitation will be Friday, prior to the Funeral Service, from 9:30 to 10:45 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley.


Dale D. "Ozzy" Ackerman was born on October 1, 1937 in Sibley, Iowa. He was the son of Osbrand and Amelia (Buschenfeld) Ackerman. He lived his youth in Sibley where he attended school. He was a graduate of Sibley High School, Commercial Trades Institute and International Correspondence School. In April of 1958, Ozzy entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Ozzy enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing snooker. He had fun playing cards and pulling jokes on his sister Lucille Fransen's grandchildren.
Ozzy passed away on Friday June 30, 2017 at Sibley Specialty Care.
Those left to cherish his memories are his sister, Lucille Fransen of Sibley, IA; sister-in-law, Ellen Ackerman of Spencer, IA and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Walter Ackerman, Alfred Ackerman and Lloyd Ackerman; one sister, Dorothy Noor.
