Mary Prenger, 44 of Carroll, died early Sunday morning, July 23, 2017 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Kevin Richter. Mary's brother, Deacon Dave Prenger will assist with the funeral mass. Lectors will be Brent Prenger and Nic Prenger. Gift Bearers will be: Amy Sondergroth, Kari Klocke, and Shari Brasel. Eucharistic Ministers will be: Joan Badding and Paula Templemeyer. Casket Bearers will be Mary's nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.

Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 4 p.m. on Tuesday where there will be a rosary at 5 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church on Wednesday morning where visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until time of the funeral mass.

Born on March 21, 1973 in Carroll, Iowa, Mary Ann Prenger was the daughter of Louis A. and Rita A. (Baumhover) Prenger. She spent her lifetime in the Carroll community and was a 1991 graduate from Kuemper Catholic High School. Mary furthered her education with a degree from Hawkeye Tech. Following her schooling she returned to Carroll where she worked in the family business at Prenger's Slumberland where she was currently the manager.

Mary loved spending time with family and friends; playing cards, vacationing to fun places, Friday trips to the lake and attending concerts. She especially loved her nieces, and nephews and was very instrumental in their lives. Mary was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Carroll.

Mary is survived by her mother Rita Prenger of Carroll; her siblings: David A. (Terri) Prenger of Carroll, Karen A. (Chris) Jenk of Oconomowac, WI, Mark A. (Jan) Prenger of Lake City, MN, Louis A. (Amy) Prenger of Carroll, Patty A. (Jeff) Schwarzkopf of West Des Moines, and Dr. Michael A. (Linda) Prenger of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; as well as many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Her father, Louis A. Prenger Sr., preceded her in death.
