Lloyd Ray Garrett, 64, of Jasper, entered into rest on August 18, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham.Mr. Garrett was born on September 4, 1952, in Jasper. Ray served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a truck driver for Bruno's for 30+ years. Ray enjoyed building computers and fishing. Ray was given the nickname "Razor" by his father in law and was known as "Whirlwind" on the CB radio.Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 6pm-8pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 12pm at New Hope Church of Christ, where he will lie in state from 10am-12pm. Mike Jackson will officiate.
