ghters.He was a member of All Saints Parish - St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. Through the years, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, and camping. He played on Whitey's slow pitch softball team and bowled on several teams for many years. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees. He helped on the "chain gang" for Gehlen Catholic football for several years. He also enjoyed attending the sporting events of his nieces and nephews. Dennis loved to be around people, he will be remembered by many as a jokester and prankster. But most of all, he loved the time spent with grandchildren.Survivors include his daughters: Michelle Mathers of Marion, IA, and her daughter, Nora Mathers, his "little peanut"; Lisa (Andy) Alderman of La Porte City, IA, and their son, Logan Alderman, his "little buddy"; two sisters: Janeen (Terry) Reuter of Le Mars, IA, and Marleen (Wayne) Schipper of Le Mars, IA; his nieces and nephews: Eric (Stacy) Reuter, Matt (Sandy) Reuter, Brenda (Phife) Thomas, Tony (Kelsie) Reuter, David (Alissa) Schipper, and Brad (Machelle) Schipper; his special friend: Kathy Kruger of Le Mars, IA; and several great nieces and great nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and DeLores Mathers.
