Herbert O. Joachim, age 85, of North Port, FL, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ.
Mr. Joachim was born in Elizabeth, NJ and grew up in Franklin Square, NY. He later moved to Kings Park and resided for many years in Lake Placid, NY before moving to Englewood, FL and finally settling down in North Port, FL. He was a proud veteran having served in the Navy and was a Cairn Terrier enthusiast. As the owner of Cairncrest Kennels, he raised and showed his prized terriers in many prestige and elite shows. One of his proudest moments came when he showed one of his many prized dogs in the famed Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. He was a passionate and educated traveler, frequenting many remote destinations in Europe yearly, he faithfully scrapbooked every trip of his life.
Herbert was predeceased by his parents Erwin and Martha Joachim; as well as his first wife Marilyn Jodry and his son Wayne Joachim. Surviving is his loving wife Diane McMahon; children Lisa and her husband Tommy and Audrey and her partner Gary; grandchildren Ryan, Emily, Marc, Jamie, Virginia, Sarah and Hannah.
