tle for Jack Martin on their land. They moved into town in 1983, and Carol began her 28 year career at the Farm Service Agency (formerly the ASCS Office) where she made lifelong friends with fellow employees and county farmers. In 1988 the couple purchased Centennial Lanes and quickly had to add a dining facility by 1991 to accommodate the prosperous main street business. There too, the couple formed forever friendships with their employees and patrons that are still talked about to this day. She was a school bus driver for many years for the Ponca Public School system. Carol took great pride in being the first woman elected to the Salem Lutheran Church Council and being a part of the building committee in 1982. She also served as secretary for Salem for several years, and as a WELCA officer. She was a member of the Helping Hand Club and enjoyed many years of fellowship with her Highland Road neighboring friends. Carol was deemed the "First Lady" of Ponca Area Community Club, which she and Wayne remained a faithful part of until her illness. The couple organized and were a major part in almost every fundraiser to ever occur in our community. Carol enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. She made beautiful doilies for her family and friends. She also enjoyed helping in her daughter, Koni's business as well as visiting with the patrons. She was an avid Husker and Tom Osborne fan. The couple's dedication and love for their grandchildren and great-grandchildren was by far their favorite thing in life. They never missed a church, school or sporting event they were involved in. Each grandchild will attest to their relationship with her and always having a shoulder to lean on and a soft place to land, and with Grandma they never went without anything. Carol remained the proudest grandma around until her last words, making sure she saw each one and expressed her love to them. Carol is survived by her husband of 50 years, Wayne; her son, Kyle and wife, Michelle of Walthill; daughter, Koni and special friend, Todd Book of Newcastle; son-in-law, Kevin Dohma and special friend, Julie Sydow; 11 grandchildren, Courtney (Ben) Taylor, Matt Dohma and fiance, Amy Pritchard, Megan Lamprecht, Paige (Jake) Hinz, Brooklyn Lundin, Taelor Washburn, Zachary, Hannah, Micah, Sam and Emma Lamprecht; 7 great-grandchildren, Arthur Lamprecht, Jett, Ivy and Tate Taylor, Emma Hinz, Wayde Duerksen and Myles Hinz; a very special sister-in-law and best friend for many years, Karen Rush; brothers-in-law, Jim (Teri) Lamprecht and Bob Lamprecht; sisters-in-law, Susan Golden and Ruthie Boeshart; Carol's long time best friend and co-worker, Diane Smith; many other cousins, nieces, nephews; and an entire community and surrounding area of people who loved her so much. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Dohma; her parents, Elmer and Lucy Olson; in-laws, George and Amy Lamprecht, sister, Marlene Iler; brother, Steve Olson; two very special nephews, Kevin Rush and Scott Iler; and brothers-in-law, John Rush, John Golden and George Boeshart. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for designations to be made at a later time.
