Bert Alexander, Jr.

ROCHESTER, MINN:Bert Alexander Jr., 87, died Monday, February 10, 2014 at Golden Living Center East. Bert was born January 11, 1927 to Bert Alexander Sr. and Dorothy B. (Ryan) Alexander in Borger, TX. He was raised in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School. After working at Mayo Clinic for a short time, he started working in home building and real estate. He started his own business Bert Alexander real estate and appraising. He was one of Rochester's first realtor's and later retired in the late 1990's. He married Gladys E. Mork on April 27, 1950 in Rochester. She died after fifty years of marriage. He then married Joan B. Ruesink on May 17, 2002 in Rochester. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a member of Rochester's Masonic Lodge, Shriner's Motorcycle Group, and Rochester Eagles Club. Bert is survived by his wife Joan Alexander, Rochester, MN, his step-children, Judith (William) Atkinson, Milaca, MN, Terry (Christopher Norris) Ruesink, Rochester, MN; three step grandchildren, Melissa (Billy) Schreader, Pine Island, MN, Schanelle (Adam) Hanson, Rochester, MN and Fallon Schmiedeberg, Eyota, MN; ; five great step grandchildren. :00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Bethel Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Children Hospital and Bethel Lutheran Church.
