his high school sweetheart, Beverly Burnham, in 1961. They were blessed to have two children, Bryan Ray and Kayla Diane. They took a special vacation each year. A favorite was in the winter of 1989 when the family visited relatives in Arizona and California and attended the rose Bowl Parade and game. Another favorite spot was Las Vegas. Doug enjoyed the bright lights and special attractions as well as playing blackjack. He and Beverly were fortunate to celebrate 55 years together.
Doug enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He took an annual trip to Canada with friends and always came home with his limit of walleye and northern pike. His grandchildren were very special and came for visits in the summer. There were always shopping trips and movies with pizza. Doug and Beverly made visits to watch the grandkids play soccer, baseball and basketball. What fun!
