Okoboji where she started going as a young girl. Harriet was known for her famous potato salad, zucchini bread, delicious cookies, her quick wit, and earning the nickname of "Sarge". She was definitely "one of a kind". Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Gary Eggers of Maquoketa; grandchildren, Shane (Katrina) Whaley of MI, Shelby (Wayne) Scharff of Maquoketa, Seth Whaley of Maquoketa, Paul (Annette) Eggers of Dubuque, Jon (Carrie) Eggers of Andrew, Ben (Jamie) Eggers of TN, Elizabeth Eggers of Maquoketa, Larry Eggers of Cedar Rapids, Carlos Eggers USMC stationed in SC, Gilbert Eggers of Maquoketa, Alex Eggers of Cedar Rapids, and Pam (PJ) Eggers of Story City; 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Margaret Cook; along with cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene on September 11, 2013, sisters Phyllis and Shirley, and a very special niece, Sandra (Turner) Wescott.
