im was a lifelong and dedicated member of St. Patrick's of Villa Nova and later at Prince of Peace parish in Clinton.
Jim's enjoyed collecting Ertl model tractors many of which he operated in his life. He was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan. One of his most prized possessions were splinters from the goal posts after the Hawkeye victory over Notre Dame in Iowa City in 1956. Jim's true lifelong passion was taking meticulous care of his farm.
Jim is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, his daughter Julie, and his sisters Margaret Linehan and Teresa Krogman.
He is survived by his wife Joan, sons: Tim (Tricia) McGuire, Carmel, IN, Terry (Brenda) McGuire, Urbandale, IA, Todd (Kelli) McGuire. Grimes, IA and Tom (Kody) McGuire Mt. Vernon, IA and grandchildren Molly, Jake, Ben, Libby, Jillian, Tess and Griffin, and his brother Joe of DeWitt.
Pallbearers will be Joe McGuire, Jake McGuire, Ben McGuire, Tom Krogman, Gary Krogman, and Jim Linehan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Schrader, David Petersen, Les Shields, and Bob Wisor.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to The Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton or Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held at Prince of Peace Parish at 9:30am on Thursday, September 21, 2017 with Funeral mass at 11:00am and burial to follow at St Patrick's of Villa Nova Cemetery. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory - Clinton is honored to serve the McGuire family.
