Joseph Peter Bock, son of Florenz and Olga Agnes (Kronfuss) Bock, was born on September 2, 1928, near Westphalia, Iowa. He was baptized, celebrated his First Communion, and was confirmed at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia. Joe attended St. Boniface Catholic School through the fourth grade. As a member of the United States Army, he proudly served his country from March 16, 1953 to March 11, 1955.
For his entire life, Joe worked on the Bock farm; he was known to be a hard worker. For many years he had a trucking business, hauling grain and livestock for area farmers. In May 2013, Joe became a resident of Little Flower Haven in Earling, Iowa.
Joe was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia, Iowa. He enjoyed going out to eat, and particularly liked a good chicken dinner. Joe also liked to attend auctions and farm sales.
Joseph P. Bock died on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Little Flower Haven in Earling, Iowa. He had reached the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 29 days.

by two sisters, Florence Bolte of Ralston, Nebraska, and Rose Mary (Rudy) Hubli of Bristol, Wisconsin; one brother, Robert (Sharon) Bock of Palm Springs, California; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, with Father David Smith, S.J. of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Westphalia, Iowa, officiating. His loving family served as casket bearers. Burial was in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia, Iowa.
