In 1978, she became Activities Director at the Maquoketa Care Center for 25 years, retiring in 2003. Ollie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Maquoketa where she was active in the UMW and the Ruth Circle. For many years she had been a member of card clubs, the Jackson County Master Gardeners, and in retirement served on the Board of Directors of the Maquoketa Care Center. Ollie enjoyed shopping with her daughters, flower gardening, cooking, baking, her kittens, dogs, and horses and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those left to honor her memory include her husband Jim Anderton of Maquoketa, IA; daughters, Lee Ann Freiburger of Dubuque, IA, Wanda (Mike) Meagher of Brookline, NH, Lori (Laura Taylor) Hollingshead of Robins, IA, and Rebecca Formenti of Maquoketa, IA; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Claude Boyington and a grandchild Meagan Hollingshead.
