Alice Donna Taylor, 79, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at West Wing Place in DeWitt, Iowa. Public graveside services and burial will be held at 3 P.M. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, from the Mount Hope Cemetery in Maquoketa. There is no public visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements. Alice Donna Baker was born on September 5, 1931 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Frank and Opal (Riggs) Baker. She was a graduate of Maquoketa Community High School and received her nursing degree from Scott Community College in Davenport. She married Donald E. Taylor on February 4, 1953 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2003. Alice Donna had worked as a nurse at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa for over 40 years. She had also owned a boarding home for the elderly and worked in area nursing homes. Alice Donna was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Maquoketa and the Maquoketa American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed babysitting, camping and boating, flowers and taking trips.
