Star. Dennis enjoyed bowling, rodeo riding and doing Karaoke. In April, 2009, he became a resident at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Dennis passed away there on Monday, September 18, 2017, at the age of 65 years. His family was very appreciative of the care Dennis was given there. Dennis is survived by his son, Eric Sage, and his son, Derrick, of Asheville, North Carolina, his daughter, Heather Sage and Mike Jones and her six children: Taylor, Dalton, Tristen, Rilea, Landon Deney, Ryker Jones of Oskaloosa, Iowa; and three step-sons: Louis Baker Bussan and Brett Bussan of Texas, Carlos Herrera and Julie of Knoxville, Jim Baker and Tonya of Knoxville; and seven step-grandchildren. Of his original family Dennis leaves his ten siblings and their spouses:
Charles and Patricia Sage of Knoxville, Patricia Sage of Knoxville, Marilyn and Randy Des Camps of Knoxville, Michael and Gloria Sage of Knoxville, Richard and Angie Sage of Osceola, Iowa, Gary Sage of Colfax, Iowa, Barb and Dwight Kennedy of Colfax, Steve and Summer Sage of Colfax, Linda and Jeff Carter of Knoxville, and Dean Sage of Dallas, Texas. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Corwin and Margaret Sage and his wife Cheryl Sage.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017-- 5:00 to 7:30 pm. Columbia Community Center, Columbia Iowa, Inurnment with military honors will be held Monday, September 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at Graceland Cemetery Knoxville, Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are preferred for the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, IA or Columbia Fire & Rescue in Columbia, IA.
