clinic and working with local health promoters. After two years she joined members of her Community in mission in Oaxaca, Mexico, where she helped developed a training program for indigenous health promoters through the Diocese of Oaxaca. The initial group of 40 students grew to over 500 trained health promoters, working in 168 isolated villages. Sister Isabelle says of her years in Oaxaca, "I live with the people, eating whatever is available and sleeping in the parish rooms. We always experience such great generosity, despite the poverty of the local people." In the mid-2000s, Sister Isabelle returned to the United States and joined Medical Mission Sister Lorraine Ryan in her ministry, Women's Circle, in Boynton Beach, Florida. It serves a primarily immigrant population of Haitian women who are trying to better their own and their families' lives through education and employment. After several years in Florida, Sister returned to the North American Headquarters of the Medical Mission Sisters in Philadelphia, eventually moving to Flourtown. Relatives and Friends are invited to Sister's Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 28 at the Medical Mission Sisters Chapel, 8400 Pine Road, Philadelphia, PA. Gifts in Sister Isabelles's name would be appreciated by the community. Tributes and photos may be shared at www.UrbanFuneralHome.com
