Edwin Gerald "Jerry" Bickford

Edwin Gerald "Jerry" Bickford, 85, of Green Valley, Arizona, and formerly of Maquoketa and Dubuque, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at the Santa Rita Care Center in Green Valley, Arizona. A mass celebrating his life will be held at 11:30 A.M., Friday, October 15, 2010, from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., on Thursday, October 14, 2010, at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, Iowa. Edwin Gerald Bickford was born on September 28, 1925 in Canton, Iowa to Earl Riley and Myrtle O. (Ralston) Bickford. He was a graduate of Maquoketa Community High School and a World War II veteran of the Army. "Jerry" had worked at Higley Company in Dubuque as a shipping clerk for many years. He retired and moved to Arizona in the early 1990's. "Jerry" was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. "Jerry" is survived by a brother, James "Jim" Bickford of Maquoketa, IA; a sister, Nelda Bailey of Collinsville, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
