A service to celebrate the life of Ken will be held on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Joyce Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Roger Kenneth Isbell Sr. (Ken), son of Richard and Lucille (Johnson) Isbell was born on January 8, 1944 in Calera, Alabama. He grew up in the Boys Harbor Orphanage in Laporte, TX. He then joined the United States Army where he fought in the Vietnam War.
On January 8, 1972 Ken was united in marriage to Violet Marsell in Tucson, AZ. Ken and Violet started their family in Houston, TX and proceeded to travel and live in several states where he made his living as a professional jeweler. They currently resided in Mallard, IA.
Ken enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, playing pool and spending time with his family. He loved kicking back with his favorite drink and always had a good joke to tell.
On Friday, September 22, 2017, Ken passed away at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg.
