store. In 1986, he moved to Azusa, California, where he went to work for Rite-Aid as an assistant manager at one of their stores. Later, he was a manager at several of their locations surrounding Azusa.Following his retirement in 2015, he moved back to Le Mars to be closer to his family and friends. He worked part time for Lally's Eastside in Le Mars.Mike was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars. While living in California, he was involved with many fundraisers for the Children's Hospital in Azusa and stepped in as a "Big Brother" volunteer once in a while. He loved holidays and he especially enjoyed Halloween and setting up all his props and decorations. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his "one-line" jokes. He had quite the collection of Coca Cola memorabilia. Through the years, Mike enjoyed playing bingo and cards and trying his luck at the slot machines. He also enjoyed his animals, especially his cats. But most of all, he loved the time spent with his family, whether it was for the holidays or for a summer BBQ.Survivors include his siblings: Rick (Betty) Gotto of Eldora, IA, Rhonda (Ron) Kayser of Le Mars, IA, Kevin (Myra) Gotto of Windom, MN, and Laurie (Jeff) Kayser of Le Mars, IA; 15 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and great nephews; and two aunts: Maggie Singer Ideker of Le Mars, IA, and Eileen Kinzey of California.He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Virginia Gotto; his brother: Denny Gotto; and his beloved cat, "Cokes".
