igh School in 1934. In her younger days, she ran a daycare out of her home, she worked as a typist, and eventually when the kids were off to school worked and retired as a machine operator for 3M of Ames.
Dorothy enjoyed her time in the garden, cooking, camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. After retirement Earl and Dorothy spent time traveling to Cutty's Campground and other RV parks throughout the Midwest. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family.
Survivors include her children; Saundra Swan, Patricia Schaefer, Donald (Maureen) Swan, Kathryn (Karl) Anderson, James Swan, Annette (Jon) Wessman, Kenneth (Faye) Swan, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Earl Swan, and 13 siblings.
