office positions, until retiring in 1983.
Following retirement, she volunteered at Mercy Hospital and Trinity Lutheran Church. She continued to gather with her high school classmates each month.
She and her husband Lowell loved to dance at the Surf Ballroom, and in later years, in their living room, every Saturday night, to the Lawrence Welk Show. Helen was very supportive to Lowell's farming and business interests. Her life was centered on her sons and their families. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including the ones with fur.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, circle at church, and Telephone Pioneers of America.
Helen is survived by two sons, Steve (Shelley) Moore, Dave (Jamey) Moore, Mason City; grandchildren, Shannon (Mike) Janssen, Mason City, Zachary (Kelly) Moore, Pittsburgh, PA, Grace Moore, Iowa City, Will Moore, Omaha, NE; great-grandchildren, Zoey and Kellan Moore; several nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Step-father, James Barclay; husband, Lowell; Sister, Viola Hain; and brother, Walter Sable.
