chool, she worked in the school cafeteria at St. Joseph school and when the kids had progressed to high school she changed jobs and did office cleaning.
She was a member of Epiphany Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Jude Circle, and volunteered at Central Catholic rocking the babies. Vivian enjoyed needlework, crochet, knitting, creating plastic canvas decorations, and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ron (Sheila) Balek, Manly, Deanna (Ed) Harris, Rockford, and Ted Balek, Mt. Pleasant, and daughter-in-law Donita Balek, Iowa City; four grandchildren, Jamie Balek, Amy Balek, Matt Balek and Jessica Balek; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Joey Balek; brother-in-law, Bob Balek, Mason City; and a special niece, Karen Fedderson, Charles City.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James E. Balek, her son, Fred Balek, a brother, Wesley Logeman, and a sister, Vera Waychus.
