Stephan G. Betz

Stephan Gregory Betz, age 69, of Waverly, died on October 1, 2017 at UnityPoint Allen Hospital under the care of UnityPoint Hospice following a battle with cancer. He was born on August 22, 1948 in Independence; the son of John and Dolores (Ford) Betz. Stephan graduated Waterloo East High School in 1968; he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from William Penn College in 1971. He married Renetta Bleeker on November 10, 1973 at Grace United Methodist Church in Waterloo.  Stephan worked security at John Deere & Co. Engine Works until retirement. Survivors include his wife, Renetta of Waverly; a son, Anthony (Rasna) of Ankeny; a daughter, Sarah Betz of Waverly; a granddaughter, Amara; and two brothers, Jack "John" Betz and Christopher Betz.
