WINDSOR/WAUNAKEE - Clare Katherine Kerwin, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at home with her family by her side in Waunakee.  She was born on February 20, 1942 in Platteville, WI to John J. and Lois B. Crowley.  Clare married William "Bill" Kerwin in 1964 in Madison.  They were happily married for nearly 54 years.

Clare grew up in Boscobel, Wisconsin.  She earned her LPN degree from Madison Area Technical College.  She started her nursing career at UW Hospital, and worked as a nurse in various hospitals and nursing homes until she joined WPS, where she worked for more than 20 years.

During her retirement, she was an active volunteer for numerous organizations, including Agrace Hospice & Palliative Care, Gilda's Club and Henry Vilas Zoo.  She enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and walking her beloved dog, Gracie.

Clare is survived by her husband Bill of Waunakee; her three daughters, Patty Kerwin (Mike Slattery) of Olathe, Kansas, Amy (Brian) Kobishop of Sun Prairie, Jennifer Kerwin (Damien Schuerman) of Sun Prairie; her sister Lois (Terry) Hanson, brother Michael (Marshia) Crowley and sister-in-law Rita Crowley.

Clare was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and brother, John Crowley.
