for over 60 years. He was one of several members who instigated building a new hall. He was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fenton where he served in many capacities throughout the years. Herbert loved being with his children and grandchildren. His hobbies included woodworking and creating willow furniture. He enjoyed music, dancing, nature and birds; raising trumpeter swans for free fly. The family traveled throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He is survived by his wife Kathryn of Fenton; his son, Herbert K. (Marilyn) Krause of Oskaloosa; three daughters, Hollee Struecker (Tom) of Fenton, Heidee (James) Barrett-McConnell of George, and Haleisa (Randall) Johnson of Strawberry Point; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Tuttle of Oskaloosa, Karla (John) Christian of Marion, Michele (Keith) Espe of Mason City, Hillary Clarey of Fairmont, MN, Nathan (Danielle) Struecker of Fenton, Micaya (Dallas) Wiener of Albuquerque, NM, Charles (Jenna) Barrett of Waconia, MN, and McKenzie Johnson of Strawberry Point; and 16 great-grandchildren; Cody and Dylan Tuttle, Joshua and Jonah Christian, Waverly and Thomas Espe, Sydnee and Blake Struecker, Noelle, Malea, and Haidyn Wiener, Riley, Lincon, and Presley Clarey, and Asia Lee and London Barrett. He is also survived by a sister, Irene Alt-Zumach of Fenton; a brother, Robert (Rachel) Krause of Fenton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mabel Krause.
