Patricia VanBuren Metzen

Patricia Louise Van Buren Metzen was born April 22, 1934, at Van Meter, Iowa, to Albert and Esther (Oelrich) Van Buren. Patricia attended Trinity Lutheran grade school in Algona and graduated from Junction City, Kansas High School. She was baptized on May 27, 1934 in Van Meter, Iowa and confirmed on March 21, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. Patricia worked as a bookkeeper at Kossuth Mutual Insurance Company in Algona, worked at KLGA and later at Control Data in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Patricia was an active volunteer in her churches through the years and a member of Beta Sigma Phi in Algona and Minneapolis, MN. In March, 2003, Patricia became a resident of the Divine Providence Health Center in Ivanhoe, Minnesota. She died there on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the age of 76. Survivors include her sister, Ruth Mulder and husband Richard of Ivanhoe, Minnesota; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, Rick Mulder and wife Susan and their children, Joshua, Jared and Marissa; Angela and husband Todd Board and their children Rachel and Rory; Stefini and husband Matt Thomsen and their children Addie and Jack and Curtis Mulder.
