Helen Marie McAllister

Helen Marie McAllister, 87, of Burlington, died at 8:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Bickford Cottage in Burlington. Mrs. McAllister was born on March 27, 1923 in Biggsville, IL, the daughter of Cavart and Zella Milligan Bigger. On June 27, 1942, she married the late Raymond W. McAllister in New London, MO. She was a graduate of Township High School in Biggsville, IL. Before retirement, Mrs. McAllister was office manager of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Burlington. She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Burlington. She is survived by her sister Olive Bailey of Biggsville, IL and three daughters, Kathy (Hubbard) Helm of Lago Vista, TX, Marilee (Robert) DeCook of Venice FL, Stephanie (Len) Walworth of Vero Beach FL and their families including seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Iowa Hospice, 550 S. Roosevelt Ave. Burlington, IA.
