Edward Bormann was born July 14, 1904 near St. Joseph, Iowa son of Nicholas and Justina (Altman) Bormann. He attended country school and boarding school in St. Joe to the 8th grade. Ed worked on the family farm with his brothers until his marriage. On April 24, 1935 Ed was united in marriage to Rose M. Becker at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They farmed west of St. Joe their entire 65 years of marriage.
Ed enjoyed playing cards, playing pool, fishing, traveling, and he had a special love for farming. He was an active member of St. Joseph Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
Edward Bormann died at the West Bend Care Center on Thursday, May 6, 2004, the birth date of his wife. He was 99.
He is survived by three children, Marilyn Chicoine and her husband Cletus of West Bend, Alice Ham and her husband George of Manhattan, Kansas, and Kenneth Bormann and his wife Emily of St. Joe, 15 grandchildren, Paul and Daryl Chicoine, Michele Riesenberg, Alan, Tim, Jeff, and Chad Chicoine: Phil, Dave and Steve Ham; and Marc, Eric, Ryan, and Chris Bormann; 25 great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
